RAID

It’s Friday, and there is another news bombshell about the sex abuse scandal – the police raid in Belgium.  It’s amazing to me how active this scandal is on Fridays.  So, I used RAID as my header but really I’m not going to write about the raids.  I’m praying about them.   I am inviting a Prayer RAID – let us fervently, but very forcefully, invade God’s space through prayer and ask him, no beg him, for mercy, help and most importantly – healing.  Let us humbly and  reverently beg Him to not turn his face from us.  Let us beg him as the leper begged the Lord in today’s gospel.

Mt 8:1-4:

When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.

And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said,

“Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”

He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,

“I will do it.  Be made clean.”

His leprosy was cleansed immediately.

Then Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one,

but go show yourself to the priest,

and offer the gift that Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.”
